It’s actually quite a funny story about the day these were taken. Iliana, the goddess of orange, actually had food poisoning the night before, but was still willing to take these photos. We taped orange tissue paper on her window, (arguably not enough) played a couple Rex Orange County songs along with half of an Arctic Monkeys’ album and took some photos. Much like magenta, it’s was a fairly quick shoot with a bit of small talk in between photos. I think we talked about the idea of masculinity at least twice. I chose Iliana for orange not only because her whole room and wardrobe were exactly that, but because Iliana is the human embodiment of joy, peace, and love. I ask that you look at the warmth that the color brings in these photos and how Iliana portrays orange.
